About

Grant Pittman’s journey in the music industry began in fifth grade when his father gifted him his first drum set and guitar. This early spark ignited a lifelong passion for music, culminating in dual degrees in Finance and Music from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Music Business from NYU. Over the past decade, Grant has immersed himself in the industry, combining his creative instincts with business acumen to build a career defined by innovation, expertise, and impactful relationships.

Currently, Grant serves as Chair of the Austin Chapter of the Music Managers Forum (MMF) in the United States. As part of this 501(c)(6) non-profit, he champions the interests of music managers and self-managed artists by fostering an inclusive platform for education, advocacy, and connection. The MMF’s mission spans live performance, publishing, recording, investment, copyrights, and streaming—areas where Grant’s extensive experience shines. He will also be serving as the adjunct professor of Music Business for the University of Texas’s Summer Discovery Program 2025.

Grant is the founder of pittManagement, a boutique artist management company with a diverse roster that currently includes Barb, Sunblossom, and JC Barrett Productions. Grant developed his initial client to the point of brokering, negotiating, and ultimately signing with RCA Records and Sony ATV/EMI Publishing. pittManagement’s inaugural artist’s debut single, “Reckless”, broke the top 10 on Spotify’s US Viral chart. pittManagement’s past roster includes Chloe Lilac (RCA Records), Wild Party (Fearless Records), Noise Club (Warner/Chappell), and Foxtales. His leadership in artist development is informed by years of hands-on experience as a manager, touring musician, and true artist advocate. He can also navigate high-stakes partnerships and produce sold-out shows with A-list talent.

His career includes pivotal roles at major industry players like Sony Music Entertainment, where he managed commercial partnerships with YouTube, Pandora, Peloton, and others. He played a key role in executing marketing strategies for artists such as Adele, Harry Styles, and Lil Nas X while overseeing a $9 million advertising budget. At iHeartMedia, Grant drove strategic partnerships, securing new business and elevating client relationships nationwide. Previously, as Director of Sales and Business Development at Artist Growth, Grant spearheaded software sales initiatives and negotiated business development opportunities, showcasing his technology-forward mindset.

A career-defining chapter for Grant came as an Artist Manager at Ron Shapiro Management & Consulting, where he served as the day-to-day manager for Melanie Martinez during a pivotal time in her career. Under Grant’s day-to-day guidance, Melanie’s debut album Cry Baby became RIAA-certified Platinum, amassing 8 Gold singles, 5 Platinum singles, and 3 Multi-Platinum singles. Grant played a central role in shaping Melanie’s digital and streaming strategies, amplifying her presence on platforms like Spotify and YouTube, and ensuring her music reached a global audience.

Beyond studio work, Grant provided on-the-ground support for Melanie’s sold-out world arena tour, which spanned the UK, Europe, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States. He managed all aspects of tour operations, including budgeting, logistics, and merchandising, while ensuring an exceptional experience for fans. Grant’s work with Melanie extended to creating and approving budgets for recording, touring, and merchandising, giving him a holistic view of artist management at the highest level. He also supported artists like Max Frost, Civil Twilight, and Lenka, honing his ability to provide comprehensive career guidance under the direction of music industry veteran, Ron Shapiro.

With a passion for music that is as analytical as it is creative, Grant excels in business development, artist relations, and strategic planning. His blend of industry knowledge and practical expertise continues to shape the careers of artists and strengthen the music ecosystem.

When he’s not managing artists or exploring innovative industry strategies, Grant enjoys combining personal milestones with creative endeavors, reflecting his belief in the power of storytelling through music and life.
